Big fan of American Football, he got a measure of fame nationally with the Maquina Salvaje gimmick. Lost the mask after an acclaimed match against Blue Demon and then the hair to a young Villano III a week later in Neza. In the first half of 1990s he got remasked with a gimmick patterned after his traditional one -Superbowl-. He was part of the group of wrestlers that followed Antonio Pena in the creation of AAA and became part of a rudo trio centered on American Football with the first Quarterback I (not Histeria!!!) and the unknown Fullback. The trio fought in the midcards for a while and then disappeared. Lalo Mercado however resurfaced in the late 90s and first 00s in the Independent Circuit. He returned to wear the Maquina Salvaje mask. To avoid having troubles for reusing his old mask, he became nothing less than the "Junior" version of himself. On his final days, the Maquina Salvaje junior gimmick and mask went to his son. He died in the first days of 2008, the undisputed creator of a generation of American Football themed Rudos all around the Mexico.
