Debuted as Gran Guerrero in May 2013 as a second Ultimo Guerrero to attack Ultimo's rival Atlantis. Taurus would wrestle a few more times after the debut of Gran Guerrero. Taurus has been working early matches, but Gran Guerrero was immediately elevated to the main event. In his first, match on May 10, 2013 he teamed with Ultimo Guerrero and Volador Jr. to take on Atlantis, Mistico and La Sombra. Shortly afterwards, Ultimo introduced Gran Guerrero as a new member of Los Guerreros Laguneros.
Ultimo Guerrero had introduced his son as Ultimo Guerrero Jr. in magazines and TV in 2009, and it was assumed Taurus was that son when he debuted, based on his look and style. However, when Taurus was reintroduced as Gran Guerrero, he was introduced as Ultimo Guerrero's brother. There remains some suspicion about that story, but Gran Guerrero is now generally assumed to be Ultimo's much younger brother. The relationship seemed to be strongest justification for Gran Guerrero's immediate high position, as he leapfrogged over many more experienced and skilled wrestlers as soon as he changed the name. Guerrero has talent, but was so obviously out of depth that it appeared he did not and possibly stunted his development. Nearly two years after his name change, Gran's now best able to not prevent a better wrestler from having a good match, but unlikely to be the reason it's good.
