Chessman is the current champion. He defeated Villano IV on March 17, 2014 in Plaza de Toros La Monumental, Monterrey, Nuevo León for the vacant championship. Previous champion Blue Demon Jr. was unable to make his scheduled defense due to personal issues and vacated the title. He became the second straight champion to give up this belt without losing it in the ring.
